When we think of Valentine’s Day, we think roses, chocolates and of course, a meal accompanied by some delicious wine.
Wine can be part of the wonderful experience of enjoying each other’s company, making it the perfect drink for Valentine’s Day.
It’s also considered an aphrodisiac since it relaxes the body and stimulates blood flow to the brain. Paired with a beautifully cooked meal, it helps to create a romantic ambience.
Our Ortega and Bacchus wines
The Ortega wine we produce is a delightfully perfumed medium dry white wine with refreshing lemon and orange aromas.
Crisp and deliciously fruity, it is wonderful on its own, as an aperitif or as an ideal accompaniment to any fish dishes you may be cooking up for your loved-one.
Our Bacchus wine is a pale lime-green aromatic dry white wine. It offers complex aromas of elderflower, layered with kiwi, grass and a herbal overlay.
Foods to pair with Bacchus and Ortega wines
Well balanced with length on the palate, Bacchus wine works incredibly well with seafood and shellfish dishes, so why not give our Foxbury Fields Bacchus infused steamed mussels with garlic recipe a go?
It also works well with goats cheese and spring vegetables such as peas and broad beans.
Our Ortega wine will compliment cheese and salad dishes and is a natural pairing for scallop ceviche.
Wine also makes a wonderful gift for your loved-one this Valentine’s Day.
As our wine is produced in the UK, it has a significantly lower carbon footprint and travels fewer miles compared to those produced abroad. We’re also committed to sustainable growing and production methods.
Plus, many English winemakers, like ourselves, have our wines stocked with independent stores, so you can also boost the local economy as many of our stockists are also nearby.
